Overwintered Indiana Honeybees.  5 frame nucleus colony consisting of 3 -4 frames of brood, 1 - 2 frames of resources (honey & pollen). All frames are drawn comb covered in bees. The colonies are winter hearty and early builders. My stock currently consists of Indiana Queen Breeder genetics , Original & POL Line Carniolan, and Minnesota Hygenic Italian 

Availability begins early-mid April 2025.

Several considerations for keeping bees:

  • Local codes, laws, or regulations. Example of Carmel's Code Enforcement for beekeeping
  • HOA bylaws
  • Water source for the beehive(s). Honeybees consume a surprising amount of water
  • Maintaining vegetation growth around the hives. Advise against weed-whacking, at least suit up!
  • Hive entrance facing in the direction east to southeast
  • Hive elevated off the ground
